Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of mousetro. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use mousetro.
mousetro is operated from the United Kingdom. These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the law of England and Wales (see section 11). Nothing in these terms affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Who we are
mousetro is operated by [CONTROLLER NAME], based in the United Kingdom. You can contact us at [email protected], or by post at [BUSINESS ADDRESS]. How we handle your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
1. Your account
You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use mousetro. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we may suspend or close it.
2. Your content
Artists retain ownership of the music, artwork, and other content they upload. By publishing content on mousetro you grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, stream, and display it for the purpose of operating the service. You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
3. No AI-generated music
mousetro is a platform for human-made music. You may not upload music whose audio has been generated, in whole or in part, by an artificial-intelligence or machine-learning system (for example, tracks produced by generative-music tools or AI voice or instrument synthesis). All music you publish must be created and performed by humans.
Ordinary production tools — instruments, samplers, synthesisers, digital audio workstations, mixing and mastering software, and similar aids operated by a person — are fine. What is not permitted is content where a generative model produces the musical performance or recording itself. We may remove any release we reasonably believe to be AI-generated and may suspend or close accounts that repeatedly upload it.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload content you do not have the rights to, or that is unlawful;
- upload AI-generated music, as described in section 3;
- attempt to disrupt, attack, or gain unauthorised access to the service;
- misuse playback, downloads, or purchases (for example to manufacture stream counts);
- harass other users or infringe their rights.
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.
5. Reporting content and complaints
If you come across content on mousetro that breaks these terms or the law, please report it. Every release, track, artist, profile, and portal has a Report button (the orange warning triangle); choose a reason and add any detail. Reports go to our moderators, who may remove content and suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.
We treat reports of illegal content with priority. Suspected child sexual abuse material and other priority illegal content is preserved and reported to the appropriate authorities (in the UK, the Internet Watch Foundation); we will not tip off the person who posted it. If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact the police.
If you cannot use the in-app Report button, or you want to complain about a moderation decision (including the removal of your own content), email us at [email protected] and we will review it.
6. Copyright
We respect intellectual-property rights and expect our users to do the same. If you believe content on mousetro infringes your copyright, report the specific release or track using the in-app Report button (choose “Copyright infringement”), or email [email protected] with:
- identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed;
- a link to, or description of, the infringing content on mousetro;
- your name and contact details; and
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised, and that the information you give is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
We will remove or disable access to content we are satisfied is infringing, and we may suspend or close accounts that repeatedly infringe.
7. Purchases, payments, and payouts
Purchases of releases and tokens are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown at checkout. Digital content is made available to you immediately after purchase. By completing a purchase you ask us to provide that content straight away and you acknowledge that, once we have begun providing it, you lose the 14-day right to cancel that you would otherwise have under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Purchases are therefore generally non-refundable except where the content is faulty or not as described, or where a refund is otherwise required by law. Artists receive payouts of their earnings through Stripe Connect, subject to the platform fee disclosed at the time of sale.
8. Availability
We aim to keep mousetro available but provide it “as is”, without warranties. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, mousetro is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data or content, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Termination
You may close your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms. How we handle your data after closure is described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter, are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales. You and we agree that the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK you may also bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction (Scotland or Northern Ireland). This does not deprive you of any protection of the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence.
12. Changes
We may update these terms; we will update the date above when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
